About Jessica

I am an adaptive phys. ed. teacher assistant for children with disabilities. I took a year of French at Brooklyn College and discovered my immense passion and aptness for the French language. I have aspirations to become a Translator in the future. In my French courses, I was an advanced student - I received outstanding grades as well as a certificate in recognition of outstanding work in French in the academic year 2008-2009 from the Francophone Club of Brooklyn College. I am very knowledgeable, and even though mistakes may be made on occasion, I am always willing to learn and correct them. I continuously strive to obtain as much French as I am able to through various mediums - television programs, movies, books, etc.

In May of 2013, I received a certificate in Arabic Language and Culture, after completing four online courses at the California University of Pennsylvania. The focus of these courses/certificate was Modern Standard Arabic, with supplementary instruction in a specific dialect (Levantine or Egyptian Arabic). We learned the Arabic alphabet, how to read and write basic words, phrases, sentences, and paragraphs in Arabic, and how to converse and express ourselves in the language.

Throughout my school career, I excelled in my English classes. I loved (and still love) to read and write, proofread, and correct grammar, spelling, and vocabulary mistakes. I was also proficient in my computer/typing classes in high school and college, and am fairly knowledgeable when it comes to the Windows operating system, various internet browsers, social networking sites, and smartphones/tablets.

Approved subjects are in bold.

Approved subjects

In most cases, tutors gain approval in a subject by passing a proficiency exam. For some subject areas, like music and art, tutors submit written requests to demonstrate their proficiency to potential students. If a tutor is interested but not yet approved in a subject, the subject will appear in non-bold font. Tutors need to be approved in a subject prior to beginning lessons.
