With an MFA in Film and Television from NYU's Tisch School of the Arts, a BA in Art, and over twenty years experience shooting, I can help you create high quality, memorable images. My work has won major film festivals (Best Feature at the LA Film Fest), been nominated for high honors (2 Independent Spirit Awards, The American Society of Cinematographers Greg Toland Heritage Award), and been featured on network television and in theatrical release. I also evaluate screenplays… (I won a $25,000 screenwriting grant). And I love showing people how to do what I do!

In most cases, tutors gain approval in a subject by passing a proficiency exam. For some subject areas, like music and art, tutors submit written requests to demonstrate their proficiency to potential students. If a tutor is interested but not yet approved in a subject, the subject will appear in non-bold font. Tutors need to be approved in a subject prior to beginning lessons.
I have an MFA in Film and Television from NYU's Tisch School of the Arts, where I was awarded a graduate teaching assistantship. I have taught cinematography at the Kochi Univeristy of Technology in Japan, and The Workshops at Rockport, Maine. I have several feature film credits and awards, including two Independent Spirit Award nominations, and Best Feature at the LA Film Festival.
I have been taking pictures since I was a boy, having grown up in a family of photographers. I managed a camera store for five years after college. I have worked professionally as a photographer, shooting products and restaurants for websites, and was asked to make a series of training videos for modern DSLR cameras. I am adept in digital darkroom techniques using Apple's Aperture software.
I have worked in video production since finishing graduate school for fifteen years. My work has been seen on major broadcast networks and I work with a-list hollywood talent on a regular basis. I am familiar with a wide range of professional and prosumer video cameras. I regularly use Apple's Final Cut Pro software for editing.
