Hi, my name is Aaron, and I am a graduate of Brooklyn College with a major in Chemistry. My expertise and vast experiences are in Algebra (I and II), Elementary Math, General Chemistry and Organic Chemistry I & II (especially the first semester) and Physics. I myself, like many other students, have struggled with math and science during my years in grade school and had to resort to teaching myself in order to pass my classes. Hence I am fully aware of the frustrations involved in not grasping such technical subjects as easily as you might wish. My experiences in Chemistry goes well beyond the classroom, as I was a Biochemistry Research Assistant for four years, so I can relay examples to you well beyond the scope of the textbook and classroom if it will help complement your understanding of the coursework.

My practical background and unique perspective has allowed me to help many students excel in areas of Math and Chemistry as they've found my instruction to be more insightful and holistic than what they’re learning in the classroom and textbooks.

My tutoring methods entail a straightforward approach to troubled topics or any other conceptual areas students aren't particularly comfortable understanding. I can also help curb an understanding of concepts more than just learn how to memorize terms and a set of rules.

Thank you in advance for the consideration and I look forward to helping you excel in your subject!

Elementary Math

Elementary Math

I am most qualified to tutor in this subject because of my experience with elementary math as well as more advanced mathematical courses (Algebra, Pre-algebra, Calculus I,II,III). I was once myself in elementary school so I have experienced these hardships as well and have overcome them. I have tutored many students and helped them excel on their State Exams. Mathematics can seem be a different language to some students and with my instruction based on concept recognition and concept repetition, I can help any student excel at math.

Homeschool

Algebra 2,

Algebra 2

I have tutored Algebra 1 and 2 to students ranging from Elementary School to College. I have a math heavy background as I've taken a variety of math courses so I am well versed in the language of mathematics. My methods involve the identification of concepts, understanding the concepts, and repetition of the techniques used to solve problems that utilize these concepts. Algebra, like many other math courses, can be excelled at and all of my students have accomplished this when receiving my instruction.
Chemistry,

Chemistry

I am a graduate from Brooklyn College with a chemistry degree and therein lies my area of expertise. I have taken an array of chemistry courses and am well versed in all of them (especially General Chemistry and Organic Chemistry) so I can help students not only solve problems but gain a full understanding of the subject matter at hand. I have tutored chemistry throughout my time in college and beyond so I am well equipped with instructional experience. My experience extends to practical applications of the subject as I have worked as a Research Assistant in a Biochemistry Lab for four years so I can help students well beyond the scope of the classroom and textbook. The hands-on experience and the practical knowledge I can compliment to the classroom instruction will be invaluable to the student in their journey in learning Chemistry.
Geometry,

Geometry

I have had extensive experience preparing students for the New York State Regents in Geometry for the last four years. My experience extends back to grade school when I was required to teach myself the ins and outs of proofs and the rules of triangle congruencies because the instruction from the teacher was not adequate enough for my liking. I can ensure that the student receive teachings that is well versed in the fundamentals of Geometry and any troubled areas they may need assistance with. My tutoring methods are practical and problem-solving driven because I believe that the best way to learn any math concepts, not just Geometry, is by doing focused practice.
Physics,

Physics

I've been tutoring physics since my time at Brooklyn College as an undergraduate. I have experience instructing college level physics students as well as high school level physics students achieve success on their in class exams and regents exams and AP tests.

Organic Chemistry

I have tutored organic chemistry since I've received my Chemistry degree from Brooklyn College. My tutoring methods are all mechanism based to avoid memorization which I believe is the most efficient way to remember organic chemistry. You will be able to learn organic chemistry by applying your knowledge of mechanisms and your knowledge of SN1 and SN2 rules. In my opinion, this is the simplest and sure way to be able to remember the topics long term and be able to carry it over to the 2nd organic chemistry course. After all, you learn the fundamentals of organic chemistry in the first part of the 2 semester course.

Great tutor!

I went to Aaron before an exam with concepts I was struggling with. Not only did he explain them clearly, but with patience as well. He took the time to practice multiple examples with me and explain terms in simple ways.

knowledgeable and patient tutor

College Chemistry is a pain, But Aaron makes things very understandable and is very patient with (no idea whats happening) me. He answers questions through the phone and doesn't make me feel stupid about anything I ask. He conducts himself professionally, and he is also always on time. I appreciate that. I highly recommend him.

Patient and knows his stuff!

My mom contacted Aaron after I got a C on my chemistry quiz. Two classes later I got a B+ on my unit test. He's great!

Knowledgable on College General Chemistry

Aaron was able to help me study for an upcoming chemistry exam on chemical kinetics. Aside from being completely knowledgeable on the subject and patient with me, he was also familiar with how they teach this course at Brooklyn College. I would definitely recommend him for anyone looking to better understand General Chemistry and improve their grades.

very knowledgable and understanding with the student

Aaron is very proficient in organic chemistry. He goes above and beyond to help the student success in class. Highly recommend him .

Wrong "Not 5 Stars"

Initially he made sure I understood the material instead of just answering a problem (perhaps for a great review). He is a bright young man. After a few sessions, he became increasingly unprofessional. Our last session was cancelled numerous times and he tried to blame me, as the employer (essentially). I have an upcoming exam and he makes a lot of excuses. I took pictures of his text messages and emails and they were inconsistent. WyzAnt is a great program; however, this tutor is unprofessional. With time and experience, he will be worth 5 stars consistently.

Thorough, professional and simply put just excellent!

I hired Aaron a week before my daughter had her first Algebra test. My daughter has always struggled with math and we've been through many tutors who just simply confuse her even more so I was hesitant to hire another one but Aaron proved that notion wrong. He was so patient with my daughter and broke down the difficulties for her so well that she began to not only get through her homework more easily, she is actually enjoying math now that she understands the concepts behind the topics. To top it all off, she got the highest grade in her entire class, a first for her ever. Aaron focuses so much on the concepts that applying them to different kinds of problems was second nature to my daughter. If you want a tutor who understands the difficulties students have in math, this is the tutor for you. You will not be disappointed!

Awesome, Awesome, Awesome

Aaron is the best. He takes his time. He's very knowledgeable. If you don't understand, he has no problem going over it a million times with great examples. Everybody should take him. You won't regret it.
