Approved subjects

In most cases, tutors gain approval in a subject by passing a proficiency exam. For some subject areas, like music and art, tutors submit written requests to demonstrate their proficiency to potential students. If a tutor is interested but not yet approved in a subject, the subject will appear in non-bold font. Tutors need to be approved in a subject prior to beginning lessons.

American History

I love American History and took Advanced Placement American History in High School. I passed the AP's with a high score which exempted my history requirement in college.

Microsoft Excel

I took a Microsoft Excel and Computer Information Systems course in college and passed with a grade of A.

Public Speaking

I took two semesters of public speaking in high school. I also attended Toastmaster 1.0, a public speaking program. Most recently, I just completed a course last semester called Speech Communications in Baruch College and received a grade of A.

Study Skills

I do a lot of independent studying that I find effective. Additionally, I frequently help and advise others on studying for upcoming lessons and exams. I use the routine of reviewing material, reading aloud, re-writing material, making flash cards, and memorization techniques to study. The success of my Study Skills are evident in my grades throughout all my years of school. I graduated high school with GPA of 3.8 and I currently have a 4.0 GPA in college.
