Hi there! My name's Charlie. I'm currently living in New York City and I am hoping to work as a tutor for anyone learning Arabic. I've studied the language for seven years including over two years spent abroad in the Middle East. I'm very passionate about learning the language especially as means to learn more about Arab culture and I'd be happy to help anyone hoping to improve their skills in the language whether it be in speaking, reading or writing. I'm proficient in Modern Standard Arabic and several dialects including Egyptian, Lebanese and Moroccan. I've also kept all my textbooks, dictionaries, notes and other Arabic material from my classes and travel which I'm happy to share. So if you're interested shoot me a message!

In most cases, tutors gain approval in a subject by passing a proficiency exam. For some subject areas, like music and art, tutors submit written requests to demonstrate their proficiency to potential students. If a tutor is interested but not yet approved in a subject, the subject will appear in non-bold font. Tutors need to be approved in a subject prior to beginning lessons.
I've studied Arabic for over five years since high school and throughout college where it was my major. I also spent almost two years abroad in the Middle East in intensive Arabic-language programs which allowed me to reach a high proficiency level in Modern Standard Arabic and the Egyptian, Lebanese and Moroccan dialects. I also have proficiency certification documenting that I tested in Modern Standard, Egyptian and Moroccan at the Foreign Service Institute (used by the State Department) received grades between 3-4 on the ILR scale.
