My name is Katherine and I am a certified teacher providing enrichment, tutoring and test preparation service that creates a hands-on visual learning experience while integrating writing, reading, and math. I am an educator that focuses on using hands-on activities as a catalyst to teach children reading, writing, and math. Elements of these subjects can be hard to comprehend and through teaching them in visual means and through different contexts children are given the opportunity to really grasp these concepts. I love researching new methods of teaching and am always trying to evolve my teaching style to better meet the needs of my students.
Foundations of my lessons are based on the cognitive, social, and emotional development of children. This is accomplished through research based curriculum development, direct communication with parents, and lessons thoughtfully planned using a wide range of medias and materials, all very engaging and exciting for children.

In most cases, tutors gain approval in a subject by passing a proficiency exam. For some subject areas, like music and art, tutors submit written requests to demonstrate their proficiency to potential students. If a tutor is interested but not yet approved in a subject, the subject will appear in non-bold font. Tutors need to be approved in a subject prior to beginning lessons.
