Hello, my name is Kevin R. I am a former college basketball player at Hobart & William Smith Colleges, located in Geneva, New York. I was born and raised in Bay Ridge, Brooklyn. I went to Xavier HS in NYC and I have been around sports, basketball mainly, my whole life. Outside of playing, I have been fortunate enough to be a counselor, program director, and coach for several organizations through the New York area. Mainly, during my summers in college I was the assistant program director at Basketball City. To this day, I tell my players and parents that it was the most fulfilling job of my life. It afforded me the opportunity to not only coach and watch young players grow, I was able to see the business side of it by marketing and organizing the camp. Many fine details such as lunch, drinks, insurance, staffing go into running a solid and sustainable camp.

Personally, I have coached kids ranging from 6-17 years old. Each level is different, but the grind is all the same. Anything can happen with the will to work and achieve greatness. I love the opportunity to teach an individual(s) how to read and react to the game. I was not the most athletically gifted player out there, but I was taught to see the game. Look for the next play, not the current play. Basketball is all about movement and improving yourself within the team.

I look forward to working with many students.

LISTENING! - Many of my coaches used the simple word "listen" as the key to being a great player and/or coach. Working as a coach is all about developing the player(s) and each player(s) goals are different. First and foremost, you have to understand the student you are working with and build out a game-plan with him. I specialize in fundamentals and seeing the game in 4 minute segments.

Look forward to hearing from future students. Basketball is hard, but it's all about having fun and growing into the best possible player. Look at the top players in NBA now, what do they all have in common? SMILING- They enjoy being out there and mastering their craft.

Basketball

I am looking forward to the opportunity to teach young students the game of basketball. Basketball is a great sport, but mainly it is a game of "reacting." I am a former college basketball player at Hobart College and I am still active in leagues throughout the city. I have coached on several levels with the simple message, "get better everyday."
