Hi, my name is Mike. I've been a professional photographer for 30 years and been involved with Adobe Photoshop since soon after its release. I've been working with this program since Photoshop 2.5, and boy, has it come a long way! From my "need to know" as a professional photographer I've been able to expand my knowledge base to my personal images and even to building images by compositing different images. I also do work restoring vintage photos for a publishing company, literally 1000's. It's not that hard once you understand what can be done with this amazing tool. I've taught many colleagues, co workers, artists, folks outside the visual art world and non professionals how to use this great program to resolve their image problems and in so doing have learned a lot myself. I can do the same for you. I'm a member of the National Association of Photoshop Professionals - NAPP.
More people are using Photoshop every day. Not just photographers, designers, and artists, but also small business owners, event promoters, high school kids, and their moms and dads - they're creating postcards, comic books, newsletters, enhancing photos of their products, or sending cool pix to their friends, and using Photoshop to make all their pictures better.
Because Photoshop has SO many options, it can be incredibly frustrating to a novice. The tools are powerful, but not always intuitive, even for a professional photographer. Before you ever launch the program, you must figure out what you want to do with it. Then you can learn how to accomplish that task step-by-step. And on the way, you'll learn so much more.
Everyone has different needs when it comes to Photoshop. A good tutor should be able to help you achieve these goals, whether improving your photos, or seamlessly composite photos. You just have to decide what you want to do first. Because the programs have lots of options, some techniques require lots of steps. So plan to practice what you learned for at least 2 hours on your own, for each hour spent learning with your tutor. If you do, you'll gain enough confidence to really play with Photoshop, explore and have fun! You'll be amazed. Hi, my name is Mike. Michael H. was great, he was patient, and understanding and presented Photoshop in a manner that I could understand (layer masks). I have made arrangements to work with him again. I have taken courses before, and his visit eclipsed all others. Call him!
In most cases, tutors gain approval in a subject by passing a proficiency exam. For some subject areas, like music and art, tutors submit written requests to demonstrate their proficiency to potential students. If a tutor is interested but not yet approved in a subject, the subject will appear in non-bold font. Tutors need to be approved in a subject prior to beginning lessons.
I’ve been a professional photographer for over 30 years. I’ve been using Photoshop since ver 2.5 in late 1992. At the time, it was shifting from a novelty to being professionally useful. By the time digital photography became the dominant form of image capture, I was quite well versed in Photoshop as a professional tool. Now, it’s a integral part professional photography. Because of my early involvement, I have taught many co-workers and clients how to use this powerful program.
Photshop is just as useful to amateur photographer as well. Once the fundamentals are learned, the program seems far less intimidating. I can help you get there.
