I'm a college grad from a top-notch university. I graduated summa cum laude, with honors in both of my majors - theater and English. Graduating with English honors meant writing a 60-page thesis. I wrote on combining theatrical studies with literary studies for a better understanding of Shakespeare. That pretty much sums up my tutoring philosophy: combine the creative with the academic. It's also really important to me that the student understands the HOW, not just the answer. I'm ALL about process!
I am a comedy writer and performer, and a tutor. I teach test-prep part-time through a major company, and I have also taught theater to kids for a number of years, and served as a teaching assistant for a college-level acting course. I have tutored, as well, and am always that friend who is willing to help on writing essays!
I can help with reading, writing, study skills, vocabulary, test prep, even acting! You name it! I have written a one woman musical that I perform in NYC, and I'm pretty involved in the improv community. I add a humorous edge to most things I do.
I look forward to meeting and working with you! Hi!

In most cases, tutors gain approval in a subject by passing a proficiency exam. For some subject areas, like music and art, tutors submit written requests to demonstrate their proficiency to potential students. If a tutor is interested but not yet approved in a subject, the subject will appear in non-bold font. Tutors need to be approved in a subject prior to beginning lessons.
