Is your child is looking to pursue their dream of acting? Are they in need of someone to help them to prepare their monologues for the New York City Arts High School auditions? Or are they simply someone who would like to work on their elocution and public speaking skills? If so, then I might be the gal for you.
I am a working actor currently living in Brooklyn, NY. I hold an MFA in acting from the Actors Studio Drama School. For the past few years I have had the pleasure of coaching and teaching students throughout the five boroughs in drama, voice and speech, improvisation and public speaking as well as athletic endeavors such as running and biking. I believe in the collaborative process. I work with each student to enhance the potential within. What I mean by that is I do not try to make the students into what I believe they should be but help to bring out who they already are.
If you feel that I might be a good match for your child please feel free to contact me. Is your child is looking to pursue their dream of acting? In most cases, tutors gain approval in a subject by passing a proficiency exam. For some subject areas, like music and art, tutors submit written requests to demonstrate their proficiency to potential students. If a tutor is interested but not yet approved in a subject, the subject will appear in non-bold font. Tutors need to be approved in a subject prior to beginning lessons.
Through public speaking I have taught numerous clients how to successfully interview for jobs. How to look, speak and engage your interviewer. Currently I am a Program Manager for a not for profit organization and actually handle new hires. I know what one needs to do to have a brilliant interview.
For the past two years I have taught public speaking for the young Runners program with the New York Road Runners. My students have gone off to speak at Board and Donor meetings. The ING Gala and have been interviewed at the NYC ING marathon (NBC).
I hold a MFA in Acting from the Actors Studio Drama School. I also have had the privilege of training with various other theatrical institutions such as Shakespeare and Company in the Berkshires and Chicago City Limits right here in NYC. I am currently working as an actor in New York City and have performed in projects ranging from children's theatre to Shakespeare independent films to voice over work. Having had the opportunity to train and perform with several theatre professors and professionals I feel that I can provide a balanced approach to theatre. My coaching abilities range from improvisation to the “nuts and bolts” of theatre along with voice and diction and the method of acting. If you are willing to give me your time, desire to explore and most importantly sense of creativity and fun then I am confident we can make your next audition, monologue/scene or acting experience reach new levels.
I have been working for the past three years with the New York Road Runners as a Field Coordinator. I assist our coaches in training our young runners throughout New York City. I am the chief Liaison between our school site and the NYRR office. I have run three marathons and numerous other distance races. I also work for Bike NY as a summer bike instructor. I have been teaching children and adults how to ride bikes for the past two years. I also teach defensive bike driving as well as bike safety.
