Approved subjects are in bold.

Approved subjects

In most cases, tutors gain approval in a subject by passing a proficiency exam. For some subject areas, like music and art, tutors submit written requests to demonstrate their proficiency to potential students. If a tutor is interested but not yet approved in a subject, the subject will appear in non-bold font. Tutors need to be approved in a subject prior to beginning lessons.

Drawing

I am qualified to tutor drawing because of my education and teaching experience in art, art history and architecture. I studied art history and took drawing classes in my two undergraduate degrees. I am an architect and draw for a living - both by hand and using cad softwares (cad and sketchup). Additionally, I taught senior architecture design studios for eight years at two universities (Philadelphia University and Temple University).

ESL/ESOL

I have over four years experience teaching English as a second language in one on one and small group environments. Additionally I have a Literature degree from a top North American University.
I can help you succeed in conversation, writing, vocabulary and grammar. I use various teaching techniques including books, games and flashcards to build a strong basis for lifelong learning of the English language. I custom design a course of study specifically for your needs.
Subjects include
-conversation
-reading: comprehension
-writing: composition and editing
-test preparation
-essays / assignments: critical thinking, essay structure
Good tutoring will help you achieve your speaking and writing goals quickly.
