My name is Rongzhi and I am a Vassar College graduate with a B.A. in History and correlate sequence in Education. Currently, I work as a student teacher, teaching 9th-grade world history at a local high school. I am on track to getting certified in adolescent social studies education by the NYS Board of Education. Starting from my sophomore year in college, I have had a wide range of experiences working with adolescents in educational spaces. I tutored middle and high school children, helping them with their social studies subjects.
I have also worked with high schoolers through a Vassar-Sponsored education program. There, I helped students with creative problem-solving skills, provided homework help, and offered emotional support from time to time. Lastly, I took three AP Histories (US, World, European) in high school and got a five on all three, so I have gone through the same process as you! I am passionate about both history and fostering student growth, and believe that such passion can have a positive impact on my students.

I also wrote a 68-page history thesis in my senior year, for which I received an A. As a result of this experience, I am a convincing writer who writes with nuance, style, and clarity. I am confident that students will learn much from me in this area.
During my time at Vassar, I took over 20 social studies courses (11 of which were history and 2 of which were geography). I had a 3.8 GPA, and graduated from the Vassar History Department with honors. Additionally, I was awarded the Solomon Wank Prize for Excellence in African, Asian, or Latin American History for my senior thesis on cross-cultural friendship between Chinese intellectuals and European Jesuit missionaries in the 16th- and 17th- centuries.
I think I have much to offer as a tutor. My knowledge of history and geography, my sk
