Hello future students! My name is Desiree and I am so happy to be your tutor on Wyzant! I am a 23-year-old tutor with a passion for English and Political Science! My specialty subjects are English, Political Science, and Creative Writing. I have been tutoring for five years in individualized and classroom settings.
In High School, I tutored students in elementary and middle school in a classroom setting twice a week for three years. As a class, I taught students how to collaborate, conducted problem-solving exercises, and extracurricular group activities. I tutored students from ages 9-12 years old and provided one-on-one attention to students to help them reach their goals. At Iona College, I was a contributing editor on the Ionian Newspaper and wrote articles and peer-reviewed on a biweekly basis for two years. Once I transferred to Hunter College, peer review was integral to my English minor requirements, which enhanced my editing skills. In addition to college, my second stream of income came from editing and revising papers for high school and college students.
I support student online learning by organizational skills to track assignments and their completion. As well, I work on sharpening core skills to prepare students for in-school or distance education. I look forward to connecting with you and helping you reach your goals one session at a time!
