I grew up in Marion, IL and attended the local public high school. I matriculated to Washington University in St. Louis where I majored in Philosophy-Neuroscience-Psychology with a focus in Philosophy of Neuroscience along with a second major in Biology. While there I conducted research in psychology of finance and was a teaching assistant for a year in an Anatomy and Physiology course. Additionally, I was part of the Formula SAE racing team through the engineering school, I learned a variety of mechanical engineering concepts in a real-world setting.

After university, I worked as an emergency room scribe for a year before medical school. I am now a third year medical student at Albert Einstein College of Medicine.

I speak English and Spanish fluently and French with intermediate ability. In my free time I enjoy working on cars, distance running, reading about philosophy and law, playing guitar, and writing music.

I have tutored independently in the past, provided guidance for peers who hope to pursue careers in medicine, and would be very excited to engage students in friendly, tailored, and productive tutoring sessions!

In high school, I took every available advanced math class. In college, I completed calculus courses, psychological statistics, and practical statistics. Currently, I employ mostly arithmetic methods in drug dosing calculations in the clinical setting.

My extensive science education would serve as a great asset in the way of helping students formulate a strong foundational understanding of scientific concepts. Having had the opportunity to enjoy 4 years of undergraduate education and several years of medical training, I am prepared to field a variety of science subjects. Science is a story, and I love talking about it. I hope to get students as excited about science as I am, and think that is a key first step to excelling in this subject.

Reading has always been a hobby of mine. From primary medical literature, to science fiction, to history, I enjoy learning and discussing texts of any medium. I believe the key to success on the ACT Reading and English sections is to read critically and interpret logically. By supporting students while they connect the dots between passages and answer choices, I believe that these are skills we can refine.

I believe that as we keep acquiring knowledge, each subsequent increment of knowledge comes easier and we begin to see patterns and themes across subject, ultimately connecting them. The ACT does not have to be daunting; it is an opportunity to exercise your mind and get you excited for your university education!
