I have been teaching for 10 years. I am currently a high school special education teacher in the Bronx. I have both special and general education licenses. Most of my teaching has been in special education, particularly students with autism, which has not only made me fall in love with teaching even more, but made me a better person by increasing my patience and dedication to teaching. I have worked with all ages and grades, ranging from early intervention to high school and adulthood. I have a strong background in ABA.

In most cases, tutors gain approval in a subject by passing a proficiency exam. For some subject areas, like music and art, tutors submit written requests to demonstrate their proficiency to potential students. If a tutor is interested but not yet approved in a subject, the subject will appear in non-bold font. Tutors need to be approved in a subject prior to beginning lessons.
I have worked with preschool and elementary students for many years. I have also worked with students with special needs who required handwriting support. I worked below Occupational Therapists, who showed me many tips such as writing grips and different pencil shapes. I have also used a writing program called Handwriting Without Tears for many years and have seen great success. I have a Bachelor's and a Master's degree in Special Education.
