About Brian

I am very excited to join the WyzAnt community and offer my services as a tutor! You will find me observant and attentive to your needs - I listen and work with you. I thoroughly enjoy tutoring - there is no greater sense of pride and accomplishment for me than helping a student get through some stumbling blocks, develop the tools to tackle problems on their own, and glimpse into "bigger picture". I have been tutoring since high school as a volunteer and group leader at a non-profit educational center; I've also worked as an assistant teacher at a public school in Boston for a couple of years.

I have a Bachelors in Philosophy (minor in Economics) from Boston College. I am considering a career in education, albeit in teaching or founding a school/ non-profit, and I and am hoping this experience will assist me in my endeavors. Additionally, I have two years of experience in Muay Thai Boxing training, which I would be most delighted to teach.

I performed well on standardized testing for high school and college.

I have a Bachelor's degree in Philosophy and thoroughly enjoyed writing for these courses. Often, we would read very abstract material - writing helped me delve into the content and bring it alive. I've also done some grant-writing and revising for a non-profit's requests for proposals.

I have two years of training in Muay Thai Boxing at a gym in NYC. I have also dabbled sufficiently in Jiu Jitsu and developed important grappling skills.

Please reach out! My schedule is fairly flexible and I am generally able to assist you at your convenience. Thanks for your time and consideration! Hope to hear from you soon.

Approved subjects

In most cases, tutors gain approval in a subject by passing a proficiency exam. For some subject areas, like music and art, tutors submit written requests to demonstrate their proficiency to potential students. If a tutor is interested but not yet approved in a subject, the subject will appear in non-bold font. Tutors need to be approved in a subject prior to beginning lessons.
