A competitive athlete (gymnastics, running, combatives) and martial artist with over 30 years experience in numerous fitness disciplines, I focus on functional exercises, simple equipment, and different types of resistant training. In addition to exercise and body awareness, I offer a holistic approach to fitness, combining mind, body, and emotional intelligence to help students leverage the best of themselves. I am also a certified holistic health coach, having years of training from both the Institute for Integrative Nutrition and the Primal Health Coach Institute,, so in addition to fitness coaching, I can add proper nutrition and mental/emotional support to any fitness regimen. I teach clients how to get stronger, more agile and flexible, while increasing their stamina, in simple and effective ways. This means clients can achieve their optimum weight and body composition, while building the body and fitness they desire without endless hours in a gym. In many cases the goals can be achieve in as little as 30min a few times a week. I have over 30 years experience learning and over 20 years teaching martial arts. Arts I have studied are: Tae Kwon Do, Aikido, Kali/Escrima/Arnis, Penjak Silat, Wing Chun, Jeet Kun Do, Muy Thai, Boxing, Wrestling, Martial Taichi, Xing-Yi, Bagua, Systema and Combat Hapkido. I have a number of lineages, though as one goes on with training that does not matter as much. My approach is direct and practical. It combines sensitivity, strength, agility and stamina with forms, techniques and concepts to build up a person's ability to grow as a person as they learn to defend themselves. Depending on what track a person takes, the learning can be more combatives or character-building oriented, as I adapt my training methods to the goals of the student(s) I am working with.
