My lifelong love of learning propelled me into the field of education. I am a certified teacher (k-6) and am currently working on my Master’s Degree in TESOL. As a summa cum laude graduate from SUNY Cortland’s School of Education, I know firsthand how hard work and dedication to learning can pay off. As a product of the NYC public school system I am well aware of the challenges facing our students. I have had the pleasure of working with students and families from all walks of life. Helping students realize their own potential as learners and successful individuals.
My students range from Pre K-6th grade. I have tutored 9th grade and 10th grade mathematics/ regents prep. I have a 100% success rate with all my elementary students who had faced promotion in doubt. I specialize in Elementary mathematics and science( Common Core), reading (Fountas and Pinnell program), hand writing, and foundations.

In most cases, tutors gain approval in a subject by passing a proficiency exam. For some subject areas, like music and art, tutors submit written requests to demonstrate their proficiency to potential students. If a tutor is interested but not yet approved in a subject, the subject will appear in non-bold font. Tutors need to be approved in a subject prior to beginning lessons.
Algebra can be a challenge for many students. I have tutored intro to algebra at SUNY Cortland. Also, I worked as a private math tutor to a student attending Columbia Secondary School. Let me help you overcome the challenge!
I am a certified K-6 teacher. I have worked with all grade levels either as a students teacher, assistant teacher or tutor. I keep abreast of various methodology and strategies to use with students of various learning styles.
I am certified k-6 and have 5+ years tutoring elementary mathematics.
In the age of technology, hand writing may seem redundant. However, all classrooms do not have computers readily available. If students cannot write legible their ideas will not be evident in their writing. Also, it is beneficial for students to know how to read and transcribe in script, especially because as they get old they will be required to use Primary Documents, which are written in script.
Study skills like any other skills need to be taught. It is not a part of the school curriculum. Students need to develop strong skills that will enable them to work independently. This will promote success and reduce frustrations as they continue their education.
