I first became passionate about math when I was in 1st grade and would race my friends through addition problems. Eventually, I felt I had mastered addition and moved on to subtraction and multiplication until I had basically finished the 3rd grade math curriculum by the time I got there. In most cases, tutors gain approval in a subject by passing a proficiency exam. For some subject areas, like music and art, tutors submit written requests to demonstrate their proficiency to potential students. If a tutor is interested but not yet approved in a subject, the subject will appear in non-bold font. Tutors need to be approved in a subject prior to beginning lessons.

I studied algebra in middle school, but have used it over and over again in my math studies at Columbia. I have tutored the subject multiple times for students of different ages, all to success. Luckily algebra is mostly computational, so it lends itself to many examples to help master the material.

I majored in math at Columbia University and will graduate in May with a BA, and I took Ordinary Differential Equations, which dealt significantly with differential equations.
