SUNY Binghamton (Theatre Education)
My name is Anna, I have been tutoring for 12 years, a teacher's assistant for 7, and a home school teacher for 1 year. I am a student at Binghamton University studying Theatre Education. I am fluent in ASL, and love teaching people the language who want to learn it. I've worked with children as young as 3, teaching the alphabet and basic math; as well as students as old as 80 learning how to navigate basic computer functions. I have a little experience in all areas, and a lot in History, English, the Arts, and Computers. I believe in taking the time to explain concepts to students, and I welcome questions of all sorts. I am very creative, extremely patient, and am able to connect with people of all ages to find common ground and build a relationship to make learning fun. I can offer the convenience of a quiet office or dining room in my home, or can travel to a student if it is more convenient.

In most cases, tutors gain approval in a subject by passing a proficiency exam. For some subject areas, like music and art, tutors submit written requests to demonstrate their proficiency to potential students. If a tutor is interested but not yet approved in a subject, the subject will appear in non-bold font. Tutors need to be approved in a subject prior to beginning lessons.
I have been working with children as a teacher's aide in the Leander ISD for almost 8 years. I work with children from 6 to 14, on various subjects and school projects. I have helped build solar systems, find new ways to practice math skills, taught how to read phonetically, etc.
I have been studying ASL since 2004 my junior year of high school. I just got done studying ASL 1 & 2 at SUNY Broome with Dee Davis. Since SUNY Broome doesn't give out A+, I received a A both semesters and an official grade of 107.
