About Ashley

Hi! My name is Ashley and I am dually certified in Early Childhood/Childhood Education (grades Birth-6th) and Early Childhood/Childhood Special Education (grades Birth-6th.) I am an early childhood special education teacher who enjoys helping children learn new skills and helping them reach grade level expectations. I have a strong background in working with children with disabilities. I provide children with visual and verbal cues/models to help them learn new skills. Approved subjects

In most cases, tutors gain approval in a subject by passing a proficiency exam. For some subject areas, like music and art, tutors submit written requests to demonstrate their proficiency to potential students. If a tutor is interested but not yet approved in a subject, the subject will appear in non-bold font. Tutors need to be approved in a subject prior to beginning lessons.

ADHD

I am a certified special education teacher and work with children with ADHD/ADD on a daily basis. I received my special education certification from New York State and studied at Binghamton University. I have experience helping my brother who has ADD.

Autism Spectrum Disorder (ASD)

I am a certified special education teacher and work with children with autism on a daily basis. I received my special education certification from New York State and studied at Binghamton University. I have taken classes on autism and understand the TEACCH method.

Elementary (K-6th)

I am a certified elementary teacher (birth- grade 6). I am certified in both general education and special education. I have been a long term substitute in 2nd grade.

Hard Of Hearing

I am a certified special education teacher and work with a child who is deaf and uses cochlear implants on a daily basis. I received my special education certification from New York State and studied at Binghamton University. I have taken ASL classes and can engage in basic communication using sign language.

Special Needs
