About Krystal

Hello,

I have a master's of science in teaching for childhood education (grades 1 - 6). I am certified to teach birth through 6th grade in New York State. I've been a substitute teacher since 2010. My certification has been effective since 9-1-11. I run an after school program in the area and have worked as a tutor with Sylvan Learning at Chenango Bridge Elementary. I have many lesson plans, literature and tools at my disposal. My husband is a teacher as well. I look forward to working with your student(s) and helping them learn and grow.

Approved subjects

In most cases, tutors gain approval in a subject by passing a proficiency exam. For some subject areas, like music and art, tutors submit written requests to demonstrate their proficiency to potential students. If a tutor is interested but not yet approved in a subject, the subject will appear in non-bold font. Tutors need to be approved in a subject prior to beginning lessons.

Elementary (K-6th)

I received my master's of science in teaching (childhood education, grades 1-6) from SUNY Cortland on May 20th, 2011. I have student taught for 8 weeks in a rural, high needs, second grade classroom. I have also student taught in an urban, high needs, fifth grade classroom. I currently substitute teacher in every grade and subject at several schools in Broome County.

Elementary Math

Math did not come easy to me when I was younger. It's this aspect of my background that helps me understand where students are coming from when they struggle in math. For each area math problem a student faces, I bring to light several different ways it can be solved.
