I have always been passionate about helping others learn, showing people a different way of looking at things and helping them see more clearly has always been very exciting to me. I began tutoring part-time while I was completing my Bachelor's degree and soon realized what an engaging and rewarding occupation it could be. While at SUNY New Paltz, I tutored undergraduate students in College Algebra, Linear Algebra, Calculus, Applied (Engineering) Math, Computer Science and General Physics. The extensive coursework I have taken in Physics and Math has rigorously prepared me to tutor many types of these courses. Throughout the tutoring session, I like to ask questions and check that the student has a sound understanding of the core concepts as we are going along on a topic, as that will be essential to a mastery of more complicated concepts.

I am committed to helping students progress in their learning and will not require payment for tutoring sessions with which a student or parent is not completely satisfied. Any constructive feedback that a student or parent may have to help me better assist them is always appreciated. I am quite flexible with times and only require notice of cancellation at least 4 hours in advance, in which case I will happily offer a makeup appointment.

I very much look forward to meeting with you and helping you achieve a more thorough understanding of your course material!

Differential Equations

As required for my bachelor's degree in Physics, I took Applied Mathematics 1 and 2 which dealt extensively with Differential Equations. These courses were prerequisites for higher level Physics courses, for example such as Quantum Mechanics, Optics and Electricity and Magnetism which included the use of differential equations as part of the curriculum. Furthermore, during my time at SUNY New Paltz I was tutoring Applied Math 1 at the tutoring center and helping students to learn the basics of differential equations.

Daniel was awesome!

My son needed help passing a final in algebra in order to advance to the next math leveled course the first week back in college. Daniel was super flexible and came through for him with short notice. My son loved how easy going he was and his patience. He also said he really understood his way of explaining the material which made it easy to learn. Thank you, Daniel! We will keep you posted to see how he does!

Thank You, Beyond Words

Honors Physics only teaches a fraction of what is on the Physics SAT. This man swooped in, dealt with a mom, myself, who knows nothing about Physics or advanced math (liberal arts major) and took my daughter under his brilliant wing! In a very short span of time, he caught her up with what she needed and this morning in class, she took a surprise Physics SAT and scored 710 cold. What else is there to say but thank you Daniel K. I will keep you posted as to what she gets when the grades come in.
