I finished my bachelor's with a degree in accounting/economics and moved to the east coast for graduate school in Boston. I made the switch to engineering, having completed my MS in Mechanical Engineering at Boston University. I currently live and work in Long Island, working as an engineer in the natural gas division of National Grid.

Having completed a graduate degree in mechanical engineering, I have been through the mathematical and physics gauntlet. I always strive to better understand exactly what it is the student is struggling to grasp, and break it down in as simple to follow a method as possible. I emphasize thoroughly understanding the material to ensure the student is able to complete problems on their own, not just when I'm around to help them find the answer.

While focusing on my math and physics courses, I spent a year working for my college in a program titled "Supplemental Instruction" (SI), helping struggling students to achieve better results in their math courses. My calculus professor was so impressed with my performance, he requested that I personally take responsibility to lead the SI program for his future courses. In addition, I worked cumulatively for a year at two different tutoring companies, helping students ranging in age anywhere from elementary through high school. One company specialized in assisting those who had fallen behind their grade level and needed someone to work with them, and the other for successful high school students in advanced subjects like calculus, pre calculus, physics, and chemistry.

I am always happy to help students with needing that extra bit of assistance, we've all been there. Very few things brighten my day like hearing about students who measurably improved in their classes after working with me.

Knowledge and patient tutor

Great teacher! Etay helped my son accomplish his understanding in algebra 2. My son felt confident when Etay left and thanked him for his excellent teaching. Etay is a knowledgeable teacher that is eager to teach. I liked that Etay took the time before and after the lesson to have a conversation in order to find out what our needs and expectations are.
