Hi! I'm Barb. I've been a teacher for over thirty years. Many of these years I taught at the elementary level and several of them I've taught at the college level. I believe that student success is a result of many variables. Not all students are not self-starters and may need an adult to encourage, help motivate and build their confidence. Since I won’t know your background, establishing a relationship built on trust right from the beginning is crucial. And communication is key, letting you know that the lines are always open and that each of you is an individual. I want to be there to listen. I want to be available.
I also believe that having fun while learning is important. No matter how old, students don’t like to be bored. I personally don’t either. I try to make as many of my assignments fun and as interactive as I possibly can.
I am currently an online adjunct professor. I have an MFA in Writing and I'm a published author. I have a BA in Speech Pathology and Education, and I am permanently certified to teach K-6. Math comes easily to me and I've always found math to be a subject that I'm interested in. I have taken the SAT math sections and I did very well.
I would love to tutor you and I promise I will do my best to encourage and motivate you to do you best work ever.
