The College of Saint Rose (Social Studies Secondary)
Dear students and parents,
I have recently graduated. My major is education with a concentration in history and political science. During my college years I have taken close to 130 credit hours. A majority of my credit hours have been devoted to multiple areas of history including European, American, African, Asian and Hispanic. I have volunteered with multiple after-school programs where I was a tutor and a mentor for middle school and high school students. I really enjoyed my time with these programs, and I feel like I can make tutoring fun instead of boring and help your student study for important exams like Regents. I have obtained my bachelor's and am currently certified. I have spent countless hours in a classroom teaching and observing (through observations and subbing), so I am familiar with multiple approaches of teaching and differentiated learning styles. I have worked as a substitute teacher and substitute teaching assistant therefore I am used to working one on one with a student just like a tutor would do. I hope that I can help your student with what they are struggling with or need more practice in and assist in developing helpful study skills for the future. Dear students and parents,

Amanda is very easy to talk to and very patient. She brings things down so that you are able to understand the concept or topic on your own terms. She is very knowledgeable in your subject area and is not afraid to say she doesn't know and will find out the answer if need be. She is very personable, confident, and works to find out what you know about the topic. She is not adverse in trying different ways to get you what you need to know. I would recommend Amanda to any one who is looking for a tutor. She is a good teacher and very easy and comfortable to work with. I am glad that my first experience with a tutor has been such a positive one.
Thanks, Nadine! It has been great meeting with you! I can see your growth continue since we first started. You are more confident and much more knowledgeable. I think you will do great on your upcoming test and I wish you the best of luck! Really enjoyed working together, felt like old friends!
I am a graduated college student that has studied multiple areas of history. I have taught American history during student teaching and while I was a long term substitute. I have experience teaching in 7th, 8th, and 10th grade history classrooms. Each consists of a small or large portion of American history. I have made lessons based on American history and have tutored a student for the U.S. History Regents.
While obtaining my education degree my concentration was in Social Studies. At the college I attended their social studies was linked with political science. I have taken 8 credits of political science. A lot of political science concepts are embedded in a typical history class which I have taken many of while obtaining my degree.
I am a graduated college student majoring in history education. I took the Regents and took review courses when taking them so I know how they are structured. I have observed multiple hours in history classrooms where Regents review was taught. I am friends with a fellow tutor who tutors history Regents so he has given me advice and feedback about what is successful. I have tutored previous students in Regents materials.
As a college student I had a 3.7 GPA. I think to have that GPA you have to have somewhat good study skills. I have learned multiple different types of study skills through the many years of schooling. I know what can work and what can't. I am taught in differentiated learning styles through my education classes.
I am a graduated college student that has studied multiple areas of history including European, African, American, and Hispanic history. These different cultural areas represent my knowledge in multiple areas of the world. I have experience teaching in a 7th, 8th, and 10th grade history classroom which covers vast amount of world history topics. I not only mastered these areas from teaching and tutoring them but from my classwork and history certification exam.
