SUNY Oswego (History)
CCNY - City College of New York (Master's)
My name is Hannah and I am excited to share my love of history with your student! I graduated cum laude with a Bachelor's in history degree from SUNY Oswego in upstate New York. I have expanded my passion for history to art history, earning my Master's degree in Art History- Museum Studies from City College, NYC in June 2016.
My career in museum studies has always been based in teaching others. I enjoy helping students build confidence in their abilities. I frequently use visual aids and incorporate an array of learning tools to help students grasp material. I have experience tutoring high school level material, but can also tutor elementary, middle school and college level students.
I am experienced in tutoring American history, world history, social studies, geography, and art history. I love to hear suggestions from students and parents regarding study materials and topics.
I began tutoring while I was a student. I assisted my classmates who were struggling with the material after school and during private tutoring sessions. As a former AP history student, I am familiar with the pressures of testing and fears of new material. I will work through any difficult areas and provide homework help.
I am an experienced writer and proofreader, able to correct punctuation and grammar. Students can improve their writing skills, grammar, and spelling through studying history. I am passionate about teaching history and make lessons fun and comprehensive. I will respond to inquiries quickly and guarantee positive results from tutoring sessions.
Please feel free to contact me with any additional questions! I am easy to reach and will respond as quickly. Looking forward to working with you and your student! Hannah is doing a great job to help my daughter to overcome her concerns and start with outlining and organizing when writing. I liked how she listened to her carefully and how she is working on personalizing effective methods to develop her reading and writing skills.
In most cases, tutors gain approval in a subject by passing a proficiency exam. For some subject areas, like music and art, tutors submit written requests to demonstrate their proficiency to potential students. If a tutor is interested but not yet approved in a subject, the subject will appear in non-bold font. Tutors need to be approved in a subject prior to beginning lessons.
I have a Bachelor's degree in History and tutor U.S. History in preparation for the Regents and AP tests. I also offer homework help and assistance understanding class material.
