My name is Luca, I'm from Sardinia, Italy and I'm an artist. I have developed a thorough knowledge of art and photography, thanks to my experiences as artist, curator, teacher and manager of a photographic agency. I also have a deep experience in contemporary anthropology, a discipline that shaped my way of interpreting the world.
My personal artistic practice is photographic based and multidisciplinary, which implies using of a broad range of materials and a flexible thinking.
I studied in various countries, and I have a BA in Communication Sciences at Sapienza University in Rome, Italy, an MA in Photography at London College of Communication in London, UK and an MFA in Visual Arts at Cornell University in Ithaca, NY.
I love music, traveling and freediving. Yes I'm an breath holder, I love to go deep under the water and being surrounded by the beautiful dark blue.
During my BA in Communication Sciences, I focused my interested in Cultural and Visual Anthropology. I became the assistant of the renowned anthropologist Massimo Canevacci, and together with him I led projects of research on the field in Mato Grosso, Brasil with the Bororo social group, and in Tokyo, Japan about the contemporary metropolitan cultures. Anthropology is with me every day, and it really shaped my way of interpreting the world.
I thought anthropology at Sapienza University for a couple of years, as part of seminars related to the practice on the field.
I have worked in the art/photographic field since 2007. I started as a documentary photography, working on social issues and publishing editorial stories on magazines. Then I became the head of a photographic agency in Rome, Italy. I quit because I wanted to focus more on my personal approach and I moved to London to study photography there. I won awards and grant, but I wanted to expand my artistic research, so I took an MFA in Visual Arts at Cornell University. Art is my life. I lived 11 years in Rome surrounded by its decadent beauty, and I studied art from multiple points of view from historical approaches to contemporary ones.
I led art seminars, thought Photoshop workshops and image workflow, basic and advanced analogue and digital photography.
I love teaching and helping people to unlock their potential. I'll be more than happy to answer your questions and work with you to tailor something for your needs. If a tutor is interested but not yet approved in a subject, the subject will appear in non-bold font. Tutors need to be approved in a subject prior to beginning lessons.
