Dear Parents and Students.
I am a NYS licensed math teacher currently teaching 9th and 10th grade math (Algebra I and Geometry). I have also taught Algebra II, and have many years tutoring experience. I have been tutoring for 8 years, and have mastered the curricula and cognitive expectations for each grade, 4th - 11th, including the new core curriculum. I have a very high success rate on all regents exams, and the SAT as well.
My training, knowledge, and ingenuity allow me to work with your child from a deeply fundamental perspective, to build a strong mathematical foundation, which will give them the confidence and skill set needed to excel at their grade level, and excel in math for the rest of their lives.
I use different strategies, based on your child's strengths, to personalize the instruction for each student. This way math will be easy to understand. I also use many visual representations to reinforce understanding.
You will see a change in your child's attitude towards math right away. I teach for understanding, not just short-term success. With this understanding, confidence grows, and success follows.
I have a Masters Degree in Math Education, and have many hours of professional development from the Board of Ed. I won honors in Mathematics while attending Stuyvesant H.S., and was awarded a full academic scholarship to Boston University to study economics.
I have many references upon request. Thank you.

In most cases, tutors gain approval in a subject by passing a proficiency exam. For some subject areas, like music and art, tutors submit written requests to demonstrate their proficiency to potential students. If a tutor is interested but not yet approved in a subject, the subject will appear in non-bold font. Tutors need to be approved in a subject prior to beginning lessons.
