I am a senior at New York University living in NYC for the summer, and I would like to tutor in order to supplement funds for a short film I'm planning to shoot this fall.

I am competent to tutor in the following subjects:

Math -- from pre-algebra up to Calculus and formal logic (sentential logic, first-order logic, and some modal logic)
All writing -- English, literature, history, etc.
College admissions -- developing application essays and resumes, as well as creative portfolios

My qualifications include:

Associate of Science -- Atlantic Cape Community College Spring 2011, 4.0 GPA
3.95/4.0 GPA at NYU
A+'s in pre-calculus and Calculus on a college level
A+ in formal logic

In high school, I struggled with chronic health problems, and I owe much of my education to the wonderful tutors who helped me learn when I was too ill to attend class. Some tutors weren't so good, however, and as a student, I've personally learned from their mistakes.

As a double major in Philosophy and Film & TV Production, I focus on fostering abilities in critical thinking--not merely memorizing material--but I also understand the importance of creativity and personal expression in writing.

I also focus on developing in students a passion for mathematics. Throughout high school, teachers tried to make mathematics seem relevant by illustrating its practicality, and this never made sense to me. When I discovered mathematics in philosophy, I realized that math is fun in itself and is foundational to proper reasoning.

Please contact me if interested.

Best regards,

Zach
