I have experience with SAT prep as well as most high school level courses and intro level college math and since courses. In high school, I excelled in math and science courses and took several AP courses including chemistry, physics, and calculus. In college I focused on chemistry for several years before deciding to major in theater. I took several higher level chemistry and math courses and college level physics.

I enjoy helping students understand math and science. I also understand the SAT, SAT2, and AP exam structures and can help students prepare for these exams. I look forward to hearing from you about how I can help.

Calculus,

Calculus

Calculus is one of my favorite topics because it ties together most of the math learned by students prior to calculus and allows deeper understanding of how math functions. It also forms the foundation to allow a deeper exploration of sciences especially physics. My passion for the subject allows me to help students see these connections and use them to form a deeper understanding of how calculus can help strengthen their understanding of how math works. I spend time getting to know each student and their strengths and weakness and use those as building blocks to help them see the connections that calculus makes to earlier subjects.
Physics,

Physics

I excelled in AP Physics in high school and a multivariable calc based intro physics course in college. I have been tutoring students taking standard high school physics, ap physics and college physics for 8 years.
SAT Math,

SAT Math

I did very well on the SAT in high school. After college, I taught SAT prep classes for a year before focusing on individual tutoring. For the past 7 years I have been working with students to improve their scores and gain confidence on the test.

Patient, kind, knowledgeable tutor.

Lauren was available to tutor my daughter at a moment's notice. She helped her review for her exam and helped her with homework problems that she did not understand. My daughter enjoys it when she can get help from Lauren. She listens and asks questions to find out her weaknesses. We highly recommend!

My son was very happy with her.

My son wants to continue using her. He was quite happy with her and thought she was knowledgeable. Haven't seen any new test grades so might be amending review :)

Great tutor!

Lauren helped our son finally achieve the SAT score he needed to gain admittance to his #1 college choice! He had previously taken the SAT twice.....prior to the second time, we sent him to a month long weekend training program. It simply wasn't enough to bring his score up to where it needed to be. Lauren was truly the answer we needed! She took great time to assess his strengths and weaknesses so she could utilize their time together effectively. His score improved by 220 points! She's a very patient tutor and has great knowledge about the mechanics of the SAT test. If you're looking for someone to tutor your child on the SAT, Lauren is fabulous and we can't thank her enough!
