I have been working with students grades Pre-K through sixth for the past 15 years. I am permanently certified in Elementary Education and Reading (K–12). I currently am a substitute teacher for several area schools as well as a personal Reading/Math tutor for girls ages 10 and 7.
I have always loved teaching and working with children from a young age and am enjoying the flexibility that subbing and tutoring offers. I am a stepmom to four kids ages 15, 12, 7 and almost 3. I love being able to teach them about the world around them with hands-on activities and creative play as well as trips to the zoo, museum, and library.
My college concentration was in English. I am an avid reader and also a writer.

In most cases, tutors gain approval in a subject by passing a proficiency exam. For some subject areas, like music and art, tutors submit written requests to demonstrate their proficiency to potential students. If a tutor is interested but not yet approved in a subject, the subject will appear in non-bold font. Tutors need to be approved in a subject prior to beginning lessons.
