Recently, I graduated with a 3.9 GPA from Hofstra University with a Master's of Science in Secondary English Education. I love reading and writing, and I want to inspire the same passion that I have for learning within my students. I think that it is important for educators to push their students toward reaching an advanced understanding of academic subjects. As an English teacher, I help them reach a masterly level of literary analysis and writing. However, I do not want to simply have my students regurgitate facts about the plot of the novel. Overall, I believe that it is my responsibility to improve student achievement with quality instruction that will prepare them for their future endeavors.

In most cases, tutors gain approval in a subject by passing a proficiency exam. For some subject areas, like music and art, tutors submit written requests to demonstrate their proficiency to potential students. If a tutor is interested but not yet approved in a subject, the subject will appear in non-bold font. Tutors need to be approved in a subject prior to beginning lessons.
