Music can also be incorporated into my lessons. I have taught lessons by using songs and playing my guitar, ukulele or banjo.

My teaching techniques are creative, flexible and include personal attention to detail. I use some parts of the Wilson program to help students decode words and improve reading skills. Games, hands-on activities which I developed & monthly surprises keep my students motivated. Parents tell me that my patience has helped their children succeed. I LOVE teaching and will assess each student and then proceed with an individual plan.

Lastly, I am a licensed LPN. I received my license while in the US Army Reserves. This enables me to offer help with the TEAS and ASVAB.

I'm looking forward to hearing from you.

Lesson 2!

Thank you Sherri! I'll be studying all weekend! I really appreciate all of the help! Now that I have my book I'll be able to get even more done before we see each other next week.

Sherri is there for her students.

Sherri makes an effort to get her students what they need. She has been accommodating to my learning style, as I am a very specific learner who needs repetition and visuals. I look forward to our next lesson!

Great tutor, very patient!

Today Sherri and I reviewed a test I had taken for homework, I got a few wrong and she explained to me very well and helped me understand why I got them wrong and how to fix my problems. I'm starting to feel a lot more confident in the math portion every session we have. Today we also started the science part and we will continue that next Thursday. I'm anxious and nervous to take my TEAS in a few weeks but thanks to Sherri I'm a lot more confident about it.

A great Tutor

I had attended my first session with Sherri and it went very well. In the time we had, we accomplished a lot, she worked with me on each problem and question we did and showed me many different ways of doing it, we talked it over and reviewed it so I would understand it. She's a very positive and nice tutor, she understands what help is needed and does so much in her way to make it happen, I recommend her highly, she's the best tutor iv had. Leaving the room that day I felt better about what I was working on and better understood the problems and work I had no understanding or knowledge of doing before.

Extremely helpful

As an adult learner attempting to get into nursing school (TEAS exam), Sheri has been extremely helpful. She has helped calm my anxieties with math in 2 session and has applauded my valiant efforts when doing problems on my own. She takes her time and thinks of the best way to get you, as a student, to understand the process of how to get the correct answer. She has been extremely reliable and is easy to contact via phone. She is punctual and professional in all she does.

Little Girl Signing

Sherri was great with my granddaughter. I had her for a week and Sherri did an intense course of sign language for 10 hours, 2 hrs per day. She taught my granddaughter songs and sentences plus words. Sherri was creative in engaging her in different activities at the library, as in one day the library had animals in the conference room and both went in and my granddaughter learned the signs for the animals. She had a great time!

Excellent

We've had our first lesson with Sherrie to work on sign language, reading, and math. She and my daughter work together extremely well. Her praises are sincere, her corrections are kind, and her expectations are right on target. My daughter is excited to go next week!

Gave helpful hints when teaching Sign Language.

I was having difficulty learning Sign Language because my instructor in school did not speak at all when teaching. Sherri tutored me and was very helpful. She was patient, friendly, and offered many hints that helped me remember how to sign words I needed to know. It was easy to talk with her by phone, email, and in person.
