Hey, I'm Cody and I have a passion for math and science, as well as tutoring. I have a master's degree in aerospace engineering with an emphasis in structural analysis. Additionally, I have published research in academic journals that utilized subjects that I tutor, like calculus. Over time, I have obtained different tutoring certifications, such as CRLA.

I have years of professional tutoring experience. When I began as a volunteer for AmeriCorps, I tutored third grade students in the classroom over the summer in order to help them proceed to the next grade level. Next, I moved to tutoring high school students for a year. During that time I tutored students in courses from pre-algebra through AP Calculus on a one-on-one basis at the high school. Then, I tutored for a couple of years at the student success center of the local community college. There I tutored subjects from college algebra to differential and integral calculus, as well as chemistry and physics. Later, I was hired by a professional, private tutoring business to tutor students of all ages in a classroom setting and online too.

As an educator I have worked with over 1,000 individual students who have different ages, subject backgrounds, and comprehension levels. This has provided invaluable insight and experience for me to give my best instruction as a tutor tailored to each individual student. As a tutor, I am able to conduct in-person and online tutoring on either one-on-one or group bases. It is my passion - and more importantly my duty as an educator - to bring students from feeling confused to the realization of the “Ah ha!” moment.

I have a flexible schedule that I update regularly. Also, good communication is important, so I try to be fairly responsive to those who reach out to me. Furthermore, I remember what it was like to struggle with finances and trying to make it through school; educational instruction/help should be affordable and I will do my upmost to accommodate people.

Computer

MATLAB,

MATLAB

I have utilized MATLAB very extensively throughout my time at university. As examples, I have utilized 4th order tensors for cataloging data pertaining to composite-laminate orientation and hard coded algorithms with numerical methods that utilized ODE solvers for optimal space-flight landing trajectories. MATLAB is a coding language that I enjoy and typically prefer when needing tensor computations performed.
Solidworks

Solidworks

SolidWorks is an excellent CAD modeling program for engineering related purposes. As an engineer, I have used SolidWorks to create parts and assemblies that have been reviewed and approved by the ISO. I have used the program in depth for creating a flying-car, which was then later brought to life via additive manufacturing. Other advanced features, such as surface modeling and SolidWorks Plastics, are also familiar to me.

Cody is a rockstar.

As a returning student, it has been many years since I have engaged with academia in any form. Cody is intelligent, versed in a wide array of mathematics, well spoken, patient with the holes in my knowledge base and an all around good teacher. He utilizes the technology well, and kept me on track with his notes (produced as the session occurred). I will absolutely utilize Cody's services again, and recommend him highly.

Patient and awesome tutor!

Cody made learning pre-calculus a lot easier than my college professor did the whole semester. Cody takes time to not only review the material, but to actually teach it in another way when he sees its a concept you're not grasping. He finds a way to explain things in a way that you can understand it. That's very unique as most people have a set teaching style and don't deviate from that and that's where students can get lost. I highly recommend Cody, I would be completely lost in my college class if it weren't for his help.

Two Thumbs Up!!! Pre Calculus tutor

I contacted Precalculus tutors for my son. Cody was most responsive of many tutors and I could feel at the first talk he really cared my son’s needs and wanted to help him for his improvement. My son said Cody explained the difficult concepts very easily and made them understandable clearly. Now he is getting a big help from Cody and very thankful of his encouragement and well-organized, professional teaching skills which make him to approach the problems with strong confidence from basic to high level.
