Even while managing large retail stores, I found the greatest satisfaction in teaching my staff the nuances of running a business. Perhaps this seems an odd diversity of subject matter; I have had two complete careers already and I am now in medical school preparing for a third....

Hello! Whether teaching private and group piano lessons, biology and anatomy laboratories at UNLV, or private lessons in biology, chemistry, and organic chemistry, I love helping students fulfill their potential. Even while managing large retail stores, I found the greatest satisfaction in teaching my staff the nuances of running a business. Perhaps this seems an odd diversity of subject matter; I have had two complete careers already and I am now in medical school preparing for a third. Thus, I have had the honor of teaching a multitude of subjects over the years.

In terms of teaching style, I make an effort to adapt what I do to what will work best for each student. No two students are alike, and therefore no one teaching style can truly be considered "the best" or perhaps even superior to another. I push my students to think and to work hard to become their best self. I have always believed that success is locked up in every person, it is simply a matter of finding the key to unlock the door.

Math is a subject I truly enjoy teaching, and one that I had to relearn myself when I went back to school in 2015. I am therefore aware of the challenges that the subject can present to student of all ages.

As a pre-medical student, in order to gain admittance to medical school, I had to master biology, chemistry, organic chemistry, biochemistry, genetics, anatomy, and a number of obscure subjects- that was just to get into medical school. While I was learning myself, I was hired to teach nursing-level science labs at UNLV. I therefore have not only mastered a wide variety of scientific topics, but have already taught them at the college level.

I worked as a ghost writer for almost two years, helping graduate students prepare manuscripts for publication. During that time I completed 2400 pages of material with a revision request rate of less than five percent.

MCAT Tutor

Robert has been a great tutor. He is really funny and keeps our tutoring sessions light. He focuses more on strategy and learning on how to take the test versus just learning the material, which has been helpful. In the past month of working with him, I have seen noticeable improvements on how I approach each passage and question, and picking up cues on what the question is really testing. Robert has also been really helpful on the personal side of studying as well. When I learned that my first MCAT scores were not what I needed, he took the time out of his day to meet with me and talk through what steps I needed to take going forward. He helped me plan out a timeline for the next few months, and even went through the course catalog at my university to see what classes I could take that would help improve my weak spots. I highly recommend Robert if you are looking for a tutor who will help you learn how to beat the test, not just cram information into your brain.
