My name is LaToya. I am originally from Chicago, IL. I have been an educator for 10 years, 5 of them here in the Clark County School District. Most recently I taught 6th grade Math and I have experience tutoring students after school. I am currently a full-time graduate student at UNLV.
I believe that all students can be successful; no matter their circumstances, no matter their background. With hard work and dedication, anything is possible! This is the belief I will bring to my tutoring sessions.
Over the years, I have implemented several programs such as the Illinois Standards Achievement Test (ISAT) Spirit Week, which included a pep rally, to encourage students and create an atmosphere geared towards success. I have invited guest speakers to speak to our students about the importance of education and hard work. I am consistently commended by my fellow teachers and former Principals for my commitment, organization and attention to detail within the classroom. My classroom management is one of my strengths as a teacher and I continue to learn more each year.
I have been teaching mathematics for 10 years. Math has always been the subject I love and desire to teach. It is my hope to give young people the confidence to succeed in math.
As an experienced compassionate and intelligent math teacher, I am confident I will be able to meet you needs. I look forward to hearing from each of you so we can begin your journey of success with math!
