We have worked with Sarah for our son's reading and vocab with a target on improving ISEE test results. Given that we only have 1 month of preparation time, Sarah has designed the classes and assignments to target on the goal of ISEE ELA sections. Her strategy of combining vocabulary and reading comprehension tasks is effective. Our son's score has been improved by 10+ points in the percentile for both verbal reasoning and reading comprehension respectively. We would definitely like to recommend Sarah as a very knowledgeable and goal-driven ELA tutor.

AMAZING!!

Sarah is just what we needed. She is engaging, and focuses in on EXACTLY the work that is important right now. But even more importantly, is wiling to answer (tons) of questions and collaborate outside of my son's sessions. An awesome ally. I truly feel that we are a team. And when my son (who tends to be hard to engage...) asks to KEEP doing tutoring even after the SSAT's...well that means A LOT!!!

Sarah provided a very productive lesson. She worked with my kid on pre-writing and then a practice essay together. They talked about how to avoid the essay "drifting" from the original pre-writing or thesis. They went over how to write clear intro sentences to guide the reader. They practiced revising the thesis so it was written in parallel structure. They revised it to make his word choice less redundant and more clear. Sarah also was going to send a word list that would be helpful for expanding his vocabulary. Highly recommended!
