Science subjects always captivate me. I was schooled in different engineering and biological subjects including but not limited to fluid mechanics, microscopy and biochemistry. In addition, in the earlier parts of my career I managed industrial packing plants where my skills and experience in these subjects were put to practical use. Different projects I executed such as water sanitation systems, cooling facilities and quality control systems required from me a broad understanding of the complexities involved.
In the later part of my professional life, I moved into teaching science. In this field I have gained valuable insights advancing my classroom management abilities, especially in the areas of formative assessments and differentiation. Last but not least, I practice and teach tolerance and fairness. Consequently, my educational philosophy is, in the broadest sense, inclusive of students of diverse backgrounds and levels of readiness.
Teaching for understanding is the hallmark of my professional practice. When my students’ struggle grasping a concept or notion I use many different approaches to overcome the difficulty. Chemistry, Physics and Biology can be challenging subjects to learn. Nonetheless, sooner rather than later my students consistently feel the satisfaction of mastering what they deemed insurmountable and their frustration turns into success.
As a highly qualified science teacher with many years of practice teaching ELL students, my skills and methods have demonstrated to be effective improving the overall performance of students learning English as a second language. Under my guidance, students with very limited English ability, have greatly increased their reading comprehension, basic English writing skills and proper pronunciation.
Some words of encouragement from great thinkers to inspire you to take action: “The only person you are destined to become is the person you decide to be.” ~Ralph Waldo Emerson Think of my skills and experience as a resource at your request. Your decision is what directs your life and enables you to take control and become who you decide to be.
“In essence, if we want to direct our lives, we must take control of our consistent actions. It’s not what we do once in a while that shapes our lives, but what we do consistently.” ~Tony Robbins My guidance can help you shape the direction of your education.
