About Rudesindo

I was born in Vigo, Spain. I had two wonderful parents who always cared for me with great love and attention. They were outstanding providers, offering me understanding, support, and means to achieve my education, and even travel opportunities.

At age 18, I left home in Vigo to pursue my college education. I attended the Universidad Complutense in Madrid, Spain, for two years. Later, I moved to the USA to complete my first BA and MA degrees, in California. Once graduated, I was given the opportunity to teach high school Science, Spanish, and English. My career proceeded through various educational settings that took me from teacher to coordinator, to supervisor, to manager, and eventually, to academic dean. The career span described above took me about 20 exciting and challenging years. I enjoyed every single step of the way. In each step, I learned to appreciate my daily interaction with learners, developed invaluable personal friendships, and acquired professional values that have equipped me for success.

I enjoyed working with all individuals and groups, and I learned much from my interaction with every student. In particular, I enjoyed special and particular moments with "single individuals", given that every person is different from everybody else and each brings to life unique personalized backgrounds, history, goals, values, and characteristics that make each person valuable, and capable of reaching their maximum potential, at times, yet unexplored. My reward has been seeing many excel and succeed beyond their own expectations.

The beauty of education and learning is the maximum development of abilities and skills in students that will catapult them to higher levels of satisfaction, expertise, and productivity. My career as educator has given me the best reward and fulfillment imagined, the realization that through effort, discipline, skill, tact, and creative energy, and their application to the lives of others, education makes a huge difference in producing independent, teachable, open-minded, self-directed learners; learners ready to move always to the next level of proficiency or excellence. No matter our age or circumstances in life, ultimately we are all learners in search of the next level of fulfillment and satisfaction, in an almost unending voyage that makes life exciting, adventurous, and promising.

In addition to Spanish, I can also tutor the following subjects: English, writing, vocabulary, grammar and ESL (English as a Second Language). I am a native Castilian Spanish speaker, and have taught Spanish at the college level.
