Approved subjects are in bold.

Approved subjects

In most cases, tutors gain approval in a subject by passing a proficiency exam. For some subject areas, like music and art, tutors submit written requests to demonstrate their proficiency to potential students. If a tutor is interested but not yet approved in a subject, the subject will appear in non-bold font. Tutors need to be approved in a subject prior to beginning lessons.

Elementary (K-6th)

I am an approved and certified substitute teacher for the Clark County School District in the State of Nevada. I am approved and certified to teach grades kindergarten through and including 12 grade. I am a highly experienced teacher serving short and long term assignments over a ten year period. All subject topics offered in the school system, I have taught and taught effectively.

Public Speaking

My background is specifically suited for this position because of my superb educational background (B.S. graduate of my University's School of Speech; Dean's List) and my years of teaching both on the elementary and university level. As an Instructor in the Communications Department, I have taught both undergraduate and graduate students the following courses: Oral Communication/Public Speaking and Interpersonal Communication (oral and written presentation of student's ideas and concepts). I can provide through my years of teaching experience an opportunity for a student to have the expertise of their own 'private public speaking professor' assuring their time and money will be well spent. My teaching/tutoring style is warm and friendly while conveying educational concepts for effective public speaking in a clear and concise manner. While a teacher, I have a dual professional role as a practicing Mediator, Arbitrator and Hearing Officer (Doctorate degree-College of Law; Dean's List). Therefore, I 'practice' what I teach as a communications tutor.
