In most cases, tutors gain approval in a subject by passing a proficiency exam. For some subject areas, like music and art, tutors submit written requests to demonstrate their proficiency to potential students. If a tutor is interested but not yet approved in a subject, the subject will appear in non-bold font. Tutors need to be approved in a subject prior to beginning lessons.
I graduated BME cum laude from Boston Conservatory, MM, New England Conservatory, and DMA from Rutgers Univeristy. My main instrument for my BME was clarinet, and my graduate degrees are in Clarinet Performance. I have been a performer/private instructor over 25 years.
I have a BME from Boston Conservatory, a MM New England Conservatory, and a DMA from Rutgers University. I have taught Music Theory (AP level as well) at the HS level. Students have been taught to write music at all levels (5-12) in general music classes, and at the college level as well. My students have also passes the AP music theory class which advances students to higher levels when they attend college in their musical studies.
Ear Training, sight-singing, and Music Theory are all subjects that are connected to subjects I have taught successfully. I was an honor student in these subjects and very well-versed in preparing students to hear music for AP classes and beyond. I have also been successful with ear training classes as I have also studied microtonal music, which further breaks down notes into smaller intervals. This was what my DMA was based on at Rutgers University as well.
I have been given outstanding instruction as a woodwind instructor from some of the best Music Teachers in the country, and have taught flute students to go on to win honor band auditions, scholarships, and awards. As a performer myself, my methods have given students a means to move forward at a faster rate than most other students. As a veteran instrumental musicc teacher (over 25 years), students taking lessons from me who are committed to their craft are very successful. I have also done gradute music work at Manhattan School of Music and Temple University in Philadelphia.

As a Doctoral student at Rutgers University, Music History was part of my instruction to undergraduate students in the course of studies. I have also integrated Music History in my general music classes with students for over 25 years of teaching in public schools. As a private music instructor, I have also incorporated Music History in lessons for students as well.
I have played piano since age 5 and have been using piano in my teaching over 20 years. I have a BME (cum laude) from the Boston Conservatory, MM from New England Conservatory, and DMA from Rutgers University. I also was a TA at NEConservatory in keyboard harmony.
I have been playing saxophone since age 9 and have been an active performer and teacher on this instrument for over 20 years. I have also taught Jazz Band methods that coincide with this instrument as a private music instructor, and have also included scales, method books, and solos as well.

I have been a successful instrumental Music Educator for over 25 years. I have also taught brass methods to championship calibre drum and bugle corps, and was a brass performer as well. My private students have also won awards and scholarships to various programs, and have won chairs in honor bands as well.

I have also been a choral director (currently have an elementary choir in grades 3-5), and was an All-State choir member in high school.
