Brigham Young University-Idaho (Exercise Physiology)
My main goal is to help make any student's school and learning experience more rewarding. I received my Bachelor's degree in Exercise Physiology (with clusters in Chemistry and Nutrition) from Brigham Young University-Idaho in 2014. I have worked as a reading and writing tutor for BYU-I and I have taken classes on all kinds of subjects. I have taken many chemistry classes, biology classes, English classes, and exercise related classes. Because I have experienced what it's like to feel behind in a class or subject, one of my favorite things is to help others who may be struggling, as well.
I like to initially ask my students many questions about the subject (that they need help with). Specifically, I always want to know how the student feels about the subject (because that will affect how well they can learn) and what in particular the student understands about what they are studying. I also like to give the student a short quiz, again, to determine how well they are understanding the material. I then proceed to teach, question, and give examples of the topics related to the quiz questions. Finally, I ask the student if there is anything that they feel particularly 'fuzzy' about.
I am available from 9 a.m. to 6 p.m. on weekdays. If you or your guardian are not satisfied about your experience, I will never charge you.
Once again, my primary goal is to help and support you in your academic endeavors. I look forward to meeting you. In most cases, tutors gain approval in a subject by passing a proficiency exam. For some subject areas, like music and art, tutors submit written requests to demonstrate their proficiency to potential students. If a tutor is interested but not yet approved in a subject, the subject will appear in non-bold font. Tutors need to be approved in a subject prior to beginning lessons.
