I have graduated college with a degree in Liberal Studies, which gives me a wide breadth of topics that I have learned about, from arithmetic to theater. I have been certified with a 30-day emergency substitute teacher credential and taken many post-graduate courses towards elementary teaching. I have spent over a year volunteering my time in classrooms (lower elementary levels).

I believe learning can be fun. Curiosity and discovery are in our blood. Whether it is performing a scientific experiment to writing a story to music or playing a role, we are learning a bit about ourselves and the world around us.

I believe learning can be both self-enforcing and multifaceted. When we find a subject that peaks our interest, we will want to learn more about it in depth. People who are into sports find the statistics of their favorite teams or players important to them, and use math in their figures. Theater has long been an establishment for both history and politics and give different viewpoints. There is art in science like the shape of a snowflake, and science in art, as how colors and shapes reflect off of one another as your eye travels through the object. Books have been written just about anything and everything and help us explore worlds we may have otherwise never thought of.

I believe learning can lead to deeper critical thinking skills. As the world has gotten smaller and our access to information larger, we find how things become more and more interconnected. This leads to the greater need to ask the questions "how" and "why." The greater our knowledge, the better we can focus our question into what we need to ask to look at the topic even deeper.
