Hello- I am a former Special Education Teacher for grades 6-12. I have taught elementary/middle school math, geometry and Algebra I, Reading, English, Study Skills, ESL, and the Social Sciences. I have experience tutoring SAT Prep, children with special needs, all elementary/middle school subjects, high school Math, English and Reading. I am also a former Varsity Volleyball and Softball Coach and have worked as an Outdoor Adventure Specialist. I also teach fitness, yoga and meditation. I believe in addressing the holistic needs of each child. I try to get to the bottom or root cause of each child's needs. For example, a child who struggles in math may not only need tutoring, but may also need strategies to cope with the anxiety that arises at the mere mention of the "M" word.
My teaching style is very relaxed, compassionate and infused with humor. Contact me if you're looking for a tutor who will get to know your child and is equipped to handle a myriad of opportunities.

In most cases, tutors gain approval in a subject by passing a proficiency exam. For some subject areas, like music and art, tutors submit written requests to demonstrate their proficiency to potential students. If a tutor is interested but not yet approved in a subject, the subject will appear in non-bold font. Tutors need to be approved in a subject prior to beginning lessons.
