I have taught math and financial planning for 14 years at the University of Phoenix at Las Vegas. I love to teach and tutor students in Math. The process of learning the necessary steps of solving problems is the "Key" to learning all math subjects. I believe in showing the students the steps in an easy step by step method that allows the student to understand the subject and to remember how to attack the problem.

I have been using many handouts and examples for the student that makes learning the subject easier. We use the book as a basis, but using the handout makes it easier then having to look up each problem to find the solution.

I ran my own company for many years and found that by teaching my employees how to do the math makes them better employees and allowed them to move up in the company. I use the same steps in tutoring my students, bringing them to understand the problems easier and quicker to master the subject.

I am flexible on the time that I am available and like to schedule afternoons and early evenings best. I will teach at home or in the many libraries that are around Las Vegas. Send me a message to arrange a time.

Algebra 1,

Algebra 1

I love to teach Algebra. I have taught Algebra at the University of Phoenix for over 11 years and have tutored the subject for many more years. I use handouts for my students that make solving Algebra problems much easier and will always come to the correct solution. I love to graph and show the student that there are only 4 formulas to remember to graph any problem.
Algebra 2,

Algebra 2

Algebra 2 is a continuation of Algebra 1 that covers multiple equations and graphing. I have taught at the University of Phoenix for over 14 years in Computers, Financial Planning, Information Technology and Algebra I and II. I use handouts for my students that help to solve Algebra problems much easier and will always come to the correct solution on how to solve polynomials. I love to graph and show the student that there are only 4 formulas to remember to graph any problem, even with multiple equations.
Geometry,

Geometry

Geometry is one of the oldest branches of mathematics. It involves many shapes and angles. How they are related and the formulas to solve them I have on a handout sheet that allows the student to find the correct one very easy. One thing the Geometry requires are "Proofs." These can be hard to solve, but a few examples makes them easier.
Prealgebra,

Prealgebra

Prealgebra is the preparation needed for Algebra. I show the student the many necessary steps to find "X" with some handouts that show the exact steps necessary to find it. The student need to follow these steps in the exact sequence, but in the end will always find the solution. I love Algebra and all my students tell me that my methods make it easier for them to learn and not fear Algebra.

Patient and helpful

Ed calmly walked me through the processes while checking how much I was understanding. He gave me tips for each type of equation that we worked on, along with tips for the rest of my Algebra 2 journey. Thank you!

Awesome Tutor

I needed help with understanding some complicated assignments in Excel for a test. Edward was amazing and very accommodating! He went over the exam and sent it back to me to review. After a lot of back & forth because of my crazy life/schedule, we finally connected to go over what I needed help with further. Edward always responded to my emails/calls immediately. I could not have passed my test without his help! I appreciated his patience & understanding and would not hesitate to call him again if I needed to. SO worth it!

Great Tutor

My son was very pleased with his lesson. He said Edward explained things in a way that he understood. It was the first time in a while that he felt he understood Geometry. We plan in booking future lessons after the holidays.

Knowledgeable and Patient

Ed was very easy to talk to and professional. My son seemed a lot more confident after his session and said that Ed provided him with a couple tricks to help him understand the graphing better. He was able to complete the last of his homework without frustration and is looking forward to his next session.
