About Brian

I grew up in Las Vegas and became a great product of our local school system. I attended a local High School, where I graduated with High Honors (ranked 18 out of 450 students with a 4.7 GPA). The knowledge and tools that I've gained here in Las Vegas is what I took with me in my pursuit of a Civil Engineering degree at the University of Arizona, graduating within the university's 4-year program. Math and science (particularly physics) are subjects I am most passionate about and proficient in.

As for extra-curricular activities, I am very passionate about all sports that involve a ball, mainly basketball (played on my varsity high school team, as well as intramural sports throughout college). I also have taken up guitar and have a knack for computers.

I have worked with several students in the past, ranging from elementary to the middle school age. I have a desire to equip our youth as best I can to better them in any way that I can.

Approved subjects

In most cases, tutors gain approval in a subject by passing a proficiency exam. For some subject areas, like music and art, tutors submit written requests to demonstrate their proficiency to potential students. If a tutor is interested but not yet approved in a subject, the subject will appear in non-bold font. Tutors need to be approved in a subject prior to beginning lessons.

Basketball

I have played basketball since the 5th grade and continue to play it to this day. I have played both at the varsity level in high school and some in college at the intramural level. I feel that my experience as a player over the years will translate well into coaching and tutoring other young players.

Guitar

I've taken on guitar and have been playing for the past two years now. I currently lead on guitar for musical sets at church. I've also taken courses in college, which taught fundamental guitar and music theory.
