About David

Hi! I would like to help you to reach your academic and professional goals. My experience has demonstrated an ability to help a good student to become better and to rescue a challenged student to achieve his/her potential. I retired after two decades of research in the biotechnology industry and taught at the university level for several years. My career has focused primarily on the sciences, particularly chemistry, biology, biochemistry, physiology, molecular biology and genetics. I have also effectively taught and tutored various pre-calculus mathematics courses, such as pre-algebra, algebra, geometry and trigonometry. I enjoy assisting students to master concepts in coursework, to understand theory and interpret results of laboratory exercises, and to prepare for local and national exams. Hi! Approved subjects

In most cases, tutors gain approval in a subject by passing a proficiency exam. For some subject areas, like music and art, tutors submit written requests to demonstrate their proficiency to potential students. If a tutor is interested but not yet approved in a subject, the subject will appear in non-bold font. Tutors need to be approved in a subject prior to beginning lessons.

ACT Math

The ACT Math exam requires a blend of understanding basic mathematical concepts and applying that knowledge to practical computations. My formal education in science and mathematics, combined with decades of college level instruction and tutoring and my research laboratory experience, will help you to master and integrate challenging concepts and achieve an understanding that will result in superior test scores and a sound foundation for higher education.

ACT Science

The ACT Science exam requires a unique blend of understanding basic concepts of science and applying that knowledge to data interpretation and reasonable conclusions. ASVAB

The ASVAB exam assesses your aptitude for various military and civilian careers and the probability of your enjoying a rewarding career. Although my professional experience is primarily with the math/sciences disciplines that support the Arithmetic Reasoning (AR) and Math Knowledge (MK) of the ASVAB, I also have significant para-professional experience to assist your success with the Verbal Composite sections.
