In most cases, tutors gain approval in a subject by passing a proficiency exam. For some subject areas, like music and art, tutors submit written requests to demonstrate their proficiency to potential students. If a tutor is interested but not yet approved in a subject, the subject will appear in non-bold font. Tutors need to be approved in a subject prior to beginning lessons.

I have 25 years of experience teaching and tutoring mathematics from prealgebra to AP calculus. I have a bachelor's degree in secondary education and a Ph.D. in mathematical sciences. I enjoy teaching students that struggle in mathematics as much as I enjoy teaching students gifted in mathematics.

I have 15 years of experience teaching both College level Calculus and AP Calculus. I have many practice exams for AP calculus.

I taught Math 132 Finite Mathematics at CSN for at least 15 years including in person and online. I developed my own curriculum before MyMathlab caught up with me. I made several JavaScript pages to go along with the webpages. Clearly, this is one of my better courses and favorite considering my Ph. D in statistic. I have plenty of study material. I love getting students to understand word problems as well as new scary notation.

I have tutored students for the GRE, SAT, and ACT over the years. I scored in the 92nd percentile in the mathematics portion. I have learned skills and tools to help solve the problems quickly as well.

I taught Prealgebra CSN and High school - Eldorado . The nice thing about Prealgebra is that most students are not afraid to ask questions. They want to understand the next class. The are still trying to determine how they learn learn. Many times at this point, they are in a class with students with similar abilities instead of grouped by age. Students that get these basic facts, usually do well in Algebra + . Studies have shown and my experience, that the students that get behind get discouraged. Intervene now with students that do not know their basic facts; multiplication, adding integer or fractions.
