I also had the opportunity to teach Special Education Kindergarten and the KIDS program. I am an extremely compassionate and patient person who acutely attunes herself to children’s individual academic functioning, emotional/affective needs and diverse learning styles. I have been recognized by multi-disciplinary education teams and parents as a gifted, creative and nurturing teacher. My extensive background includes working with children with Autism and Aspergers Syndrome in addition to children who are nonverbal or experience difficulty in receptive and/or expressive language skills. I can teach and communicate the fundamentals in sign language. As a Learning Specialist at The Children’s Hospital in Colorado, I presented departmental in-services on teaching strategies for children with ADD/ADHD. I have found that making learning a fun experience increases the student's rate of progress, which is a direct indicator of success. For math, I use a hands-on approach and the Touch Math system. The students that I have taught and tutored enjoyed using manipulatives as a learning tool. They consistently demonstrated increased motivation and confidence in their skills and achieved higher grades.

Excellent experience through Wyzant

Robin has helped both our children age 12 and 10. Great overall style of teaching and insight into individual needs of her students. Would recommend without reservation.

Very good working with both my kids

One of my children is a special needs child and Robin is excellent with her. Both my children look forward to her coming and in just three lessons I've seen improvement with both of my children.

Knowledgeable and patient

My son has a hard time transitioning into new settings, and Robin does a great job getting him engaged and interested to start his lesson. He works well with her. She is patient and shows she cares and is committed. My son is a special needs student and Robin is very knowledgeable in what exactly he needs. She is a great addition to our team!

Great tutor Outstanding!!!!! We love her!!!!!

It has been such a pleasure getting to know Robin. Robin has been wonderful with my son Nathan. He really enjoys learning with her. She is always on time, patient and truly cares about children and it shows. I wish I could have her come more often!! I would recommend her without hesitation. Thank you, Robin, for all of your hard work!

Absolutely wonderful!

Robin is a life-saver! Our 3rd grader was struggling with reading comprehension and math. We tried everything without any improvement and decided that a tutor would be best. Robin is wonderful at making our child feel comfortable even when he doesn't know the answers, she's inquisitive and engaging and our son has responded so well to the whole experience. In the few months she has been his tutor his Reading comprehension and math grades are up, which is a big improvement for him. Honestly, we didn't expect to see results so soon, if at all, and we have Robin to thank for that. If you are looking for someone who is genuine, reliable, and knowledgeable Robin is the tutor for you or your child. As our son likes to say ,"I can't wait for Robin to come over next time!"

Great Tutor

I wanted to get my son a tutor so he would be better prepared for first grade and not forget some of the important things he learned over summer vacation. I am very pleased with the progress my son has made with Robin. Robin has been very professional and amazing with my son. I would recommend her to anyone looking for a tutor.

Great Tutor!

Robin works hard to tailor the lessons to what our daughter needs. When we've suggested changes, she takes it to heart and has worked hard to make the lessons interesting and fun. Our daughter is making great progress with her.

First Session: 5 Stars!

Just wanted to state that my first experience with Robin B. has been beyond my expectations. It was quite a relief to hear my daughter going through her homework and being repeatedly acknowledged for the good work she was doing. It was in complete contrast to my, I'm embarrassed to say, impatient and frustrating episodes trying to help my baby girl with her homework. Hearing my daughter's "Mommy, I'm so confused" and seeing the tears fall down her face, for the third time, was the push I needed to make the financial investment required for tutoring. There were less costly options than Robin B; however, I was concerned that my daughter may have had some kind of learning disability, and Robin has the experience and the credentials. So the savings $10-$15 for a less qualified tutor, for me, was not an option. I have to say, the investment has already paid off and I'm really looking forward to seeing the development over the next few weeks and months. My daughter is in the first grade and has been having challenges with math and reading.
