I am a recently retired licensed Special Education Teacher with over 20+ years of progressive experience serving infants, toddlers and students in grades K-12 with a broad variety of developmental issues. I also had the opportunity to teach Special Education Kindergarten and the KIDS program. I am an extremely compassionate and patient person who acutely attunes herself to children’s individual academic functioning, emotional/affective needs and diverse learning styles. I have been recognized by multi-disciplinary education teams and parents as a gifted, creative and nurturing teacher. My extensive background includes working with children with Autism and Aspergers Syndrome in addition to children who are nonverbal or experience difficulty in receptive and/or expressive language skills. I can teach and communicate the fundamentals in sign language. As a Learning Specialist at The Children’s Hospital in Colorado, I presented departmental in-services on teaching strategies for children with ADD/ADHD. I served on the educational panel at the Rosenberry Conference, providing expertise to national cross-disciplinary mental health and educational professionals on instructional methodologies for children with Aspergers Syndrome.

I simply love what I do!

I have found that making learning a fun experience increases the student's rate of progress, which is a direct indicator of success. For math, I use a hands-on approach and the Touch Math system. Robin B. is Wonderful

Robin B. has been a tremendous help in tutoring my grandson. He just completed kindergarten, however he had fallen behind the other children in his class because he just could not seem to keep up. Instead he would horseplay and cause disruptions. Robin B. is very patient with him and once he gained the confidence to interact with her, he was able to complete the tasks that he's given. He is currently working on his reading as well as math; he is such a motivated learner and with Robin's help he is starting to enjoy learning again. Thank you so much!!!!

Great special Ed teacher

Very good addressing Special Ed children and figuring out where they are at by finding out what they like and incorporating it into the lesson. You get the paperwork of what they did in the tutoring which helps you stay on top of their learning lessons.

Very good working with both my kids

One of my children is a special needs child and Robin is excellent with her. Both my children look forward to her coming and in just three lessons I've seen improvement with both of my children.

She is patient and shows she cares and is committed. My son is a special needs student and Robin is very knowledgeable in what exactly he needs. She is a great addition to our team!

Absolutely wonderful!

Robin is a life-saver! Our 3rd grader was struggling with reading comprehension and math. We tried everything without any improvement and decided that a tutor would be best. Robin is wonderful at making our child feel comfortable even when he doesn't know the answers, she's inquisitive and engaging and our son has responded so well to the whole experience. In the few months she has been his tutor his Reading comprehension and math grades are up, which is a big improvement for him. Honestly, we didn't expect to see results so soon, if at all, and we have Robin to thank for that. If you are looking for someone who is genuine, reliable, and knowledgeable Robin is the tutor for you or your child. As our son likes to say ,"I can't wait for Robin to come over next time!"

Great Tutor

I wanted to get my son a tutor so he would be better prepared for first grade and not forget some of the important things he learned over summer vacation. I am very pleased with the progress my son has made with Robin. Robin has been very professional and amazing with my son. I would recommend her to anyone looking for a tutor.
