Robin has been tutoring my son for the last couple of months. In this short time I have seen such an improvement in my son's confidence, and grades in school. Robin is very caring, and truly shows a passion for tutoring children. My son suffers from ADHD, and what she has been able to accomplish with him in such a short time, has been nothing short of remarkable.
To top all of it off, my son really enjoys working with her, and looks forward to there sessions together. For the first time, I have seen my son really care about his academic progress, and has begun to have a true passion in his work.
I would highly recommend Robin for any child that has challenges in his/her schooling. She is a great motivator, extremely patient, and very detail oriented.
Struggling in my past to find the perfect tutor, I am extremely happy my son and I found her.
I could not have asked for a better tutor for him.
Robin is a life-saver! Our 3rd grader was struggling with reading comprehension and math. We tried everything without any improvement and decided that a tutor would be best. Robin is wonderful at making our child feel comfortable even when he doesn't know the answers, she's inquisitive and engaging and our son has responded so well to the whole experience. In the few months she has been his tutor his Reading comprehension and math grades are up, which is a big improvement for him. Honestly, we didn't expect to see results so soon, if at all, and we have Robin to thank for that. If you are looking for someone who is genuine, reliable, and knowledgeable Robin is the tutor for you or your child. As our son likes to say ,"I can't wait for Robin to come over next time!"
I wanted to get my son a tutor so he would be better prepared for first grade and not forget some of the important things he learned over summer vacation. I am very pleased with the progress my son has made with Robin. Robin has been very professional and amazing with my son. I would recommend her to anyone looking for a tutor.
Robin works hard to tailor the lessons to what our daughter needs. When we've suggested changes, she takes it to heart and has worked hard to make the lessons interesting and fun. Our daughter is making great progress with her.
Just wanted to state that my first experience with Robin B. has been beyond my expectations. It was quite a relief to hear my daughter going through her homework and being repeatedly acknowledged for the good work she was doing. It was in complete contrast to my, I'm embarrassed to say, impatient and frustrating episodes trying to help my baby girl with her homework.
Hearing my daughter's "Mommy, I'm so confused" and seeing the tears fall down her face, for the third time, was the push I needed to make the financial investment required for tutoring. There were less costly options than Robin B; however, I was concerned that my daughter may have had some kind of learning disability, and Robin has the experience and the credentials. So the savings $10-$15 for a less qualified tutor, for me, was not an option.
I have to say, the investment has already paid off and I'm really looking forward to seeing the development over the next few weeks and months. My daughter is in the first grade and has been having challenges with math and reading.
I have a fifth grade son that is completely deaf in one ear. Because of his hearing loss, he has speech and learning issues. Robin is SO encouraging and patient!!! He loves her and can't wait for their next lesson. I only wish I could have her come more often!!
When my 16 yr old with ADD started working with Robin he had four F's. Now after only two months he has improved his grades tremendously. He is more organized and focused. His confidence in his capabilities has also increased. Robin is very patient and able to explain things to him so that he can understand. She has never cancelled on us and is very reliable.
Robin has been an absolute lifesaver. Per her request, I email her the spelling words and other relevant information before each lesson, and Robin uses this information to prepare. She brings many different types of learning tools, such as charts, Scrabble tiles, books, and other hands on activities to help my daughter. She is terrific!
Our 13 year old son has needed extra help - he is consistently earning B's now and enjoys his sessions with Robin. He is learning good work habits and she helps him focus. She has a great patience and is very effective. I highly recommend her.
Robin has been wonderful with my son Matthew! He tells me that Robin makes him feel special and he loves that she makes work feel more like a fun game. He looks forward to sessions and his kindergarten teacher has already noticed a difference in his school work. I received his second trimester report card yesterday and he now "meeting" standards when only a month ago he was considered a below average student. AMAZING!!!
Robin is a fantastic tutor! She has not only helped my son but has given me extra information on how I can help his learning process. She is always on time never rushed, patient and truly cares. She also brings different learning tools and supplies which makes my son even more excited when she arrives. I am very thankful to find such a great tutor! Thank you Robin!
Robin is extremely professional and very patient with my son. He has shown improvement in the few times he has worked with her. She is very calm which allows him to focus on the material.
In most cases, tutors gain approval in a subject by passing a proficiency exam. For some subject areas, like music and art, tutors submit written requests to demonstrate their proficiency to potential students. If a tutor is interested but not yet approved in a subject, the subject will appear in non-bold font. Tutors need to be approved in a subject prior to beginning lessons.

I have found that making learning a fun experience increases the student's rate of progress, which is a direct indicator of success. For math, I use a hands-on approach and the Touch Math system. The students that I have taught and tutored enjoyed using manipulatives as a learning tool. They consistently demonstrated increased motivation and confidence in their skills and achieved higher grades.
